May 30, 2012: A Blazer Alternative

In this tangible humidity it is really hard to wake up in the morning and motivate twoards a blazer. It's just too darn hot! Enter the equally almost as professional cardigan. Without the stuffy polyester lining a cardigan makes the heat and humidity a little more bearable don't you agree? I thought so...

December 22, 2011: Saved For A Rainy Day

No, it wasn't actually raining... This outfit seemed like such a no brainer but, since I am trying to wear all the things in my wardrobe without a repeat outfit I guess I have been subconsciously avoiding that type of look. If I let myself I might wear these pants all the time. I feel like if I always wear what naturally comes to mind first then there would be a high potential for repeats in general. Maybe I am underestimating myself...

October 17, 2011: Floating In On The Breeze

Hello Everyone! That's right I am back from my mini vacation. I had so much fun with my cous and definitely could have used a few more days in the Windy City with her but, it was time to come back to reality home.

It was back to work yesterday and I just wanted to be comfy while I was getting down to business (my inbox was bonkers!) So I went with pieces that I thought would be professional and (extra) comfy all at the same time. I think that will be the theme for the rest of the week.

I'm not sure that I will get today/tomorrow's outfits up in a super timely manner since I have late meetings both days but, I am going to try to make Thursday the day for outfit posts if I don't!

  • Top floral print t-shirt, Vera Wang for Kohl's; black pinstripe blazer, Calvin Klein (part of this suit)
  • Bottom: black wide leg knit pants, New York & Company
  • Shoes & Accessories: black suede sneaker shoes, Rocket Dog; my abuela's vintage silver hoop earrings; beige linen satchel, Volcom courtesy of Lulus.com/Blogger's Night Out

May 5, 2010: So Mom

Everything about this outfit scream "Mom" to me. No, not your Mom, my Mom! It might be because alot of the items in this outfit were originally hers but, I could completely see her wearing this outfit minus the shoes plus shorter pants (she's a half a foot shorter than me.) That crazy teal pop of color is all me!
  • Topmaroon sweater, ABStudio via Mom with a tank top underneath for the modesty
  • Bottom: black knit pants, New York and Company
  • Shoes & Accessoriesteal leather flats, ALDO via Re/Dress NYC; coin pearl earrings, borrowed from Mom then altered; coin pearl/stone necklace, borrowed from mom; blue Foley + Corrina City Clutch, gifted via Plaza Too

Items from this outfit are previously seen and remixed here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.

Don't forget to enter the giveaway for a pair of Tiffany style silver earrings like mine!

FBFF: Spring Trends

What are the top 5 Spring trends that you are looking forward to seeing/sporting this season?

  1. Wide Leg Pants - I have learned to appreciate skinny pants and jeggings as much as the next girl but, my first love is a wide leg pant! This is definitely the trend that I am most excited for.
  2. Animal Print - I feel like animal prints are one of the spot on trends every other season which in my mind makes them more classic than anything else.
  3. Longer Skirts - I wasn't sure that maxi dresses would work for me but, I have found ways to make that happen and they are so comfortable and easy I don't know why I ever questioned it.
  4. Bright Colors - This is one trend that I am more excited to see other people wear although, I'm sure I could rock the coral color that everyone is loving!
  5. Stripes - I feel the same way about stripes that I do about animal prints, you hear about them every other season especially with all the nautical stuff that was going on last spring and before that... classic!
I think it might be time for another "You've Got This" Week... What spring trend are you most excited about?
