November 1 2011: I've Got (More) Chunky Heels and a Sheath Dress?

If you are participating in this theme week please link up below and put the trend that you are representing where it asks for your name. Please leave a comment after you post, thanks!

I feel like today's outfit is a bit of a cop out... Didn't I do chunky heels yesterday? Yeah, I did... I promise there is a good reason for all this repetition which you will learn about later. Let's just say I didn't really consider social events I have going on when I decided that it would be theme week this week, silly me.

The working girl dress/office dress/sheath dress was a trend I saw intermittently sprinkled throughout different lists so it works that I'm rocking that too although I would really consider this look classic all the way! What other trends do you see now that you would consider timeless?

  • Shoes & Accessoriesblack suede pumps,Missoni for Target; tourmaline earrings, V'ta Jewelry; purple tote bag, Coach

August 5, 2011: For a Cause

Today I am taking part in Spoils of Wear's Traveling Bag for a Cause to bring attention to the great works of one of Jill's favorite charitable organizations Feed My Starving Children. She purchased this tote bag for $35 from the FMSC Marketplace and has been sharing it with other bloggers like me! It represents approximately 35 life-saving meals for a starving child. Check out how other people styled it here.

On another note, I am also wearing clothes. After last nights festivities and this really hectic work week in general I am definitely feeling the need to be beyond comfy today!

  • Bottom: black capri pants, New York and Company
  • Shoes & Accessoriesblack Dolce Vita sandals, via Nordstrom; tourmaline earrings, V'ta jewelry; Traveling Bag, Feed My Starving Children Marketplace

November 4, 2010: Important Person Perhaps?

I would just like to point out that I am completely caught up on outfit posts, YAY! It really feels good to be getting back into the groove of things. Anyway...

I feel really special today! Yesterday I got asked (kind of last minute) to participate in a county HR committee meeting. I'm not really sure what that entails but, I feel like I need to dress to impress and wear some sort of blazer. There is something about a blazer that completely raises any outfit's professionalism factor, don't you agree? This outfit makes me feel that I convey being put together and that I should be taken seriously. Not that I shouldn't but, it definitely gives me a big confidence boost when I get that vibe while looking in the mirror. Then I can dazzle everyone even further with my knowledge and witty repartee. This is a big deal tomorrow especially because I have a feeling that the vast majority of participants will be much older than me. I also have another job fair immediately following this meeting, fun times! There is also something fun going on after hours but, that is a story for another day AKA post...
  • Top: purple 3/4 sleeve top, Xhiliration for Target; black jacket, LOFT
  • Bottom: ivory and black animal print pencil skirt, LOFT/birthday gift from BF's mom
  • Shoes & Accessories: black pumps, Steve Madden; tourmaline earrings, V'ta; black Spy Bag, Fendi

October 28, 2010: Pajama Like

I'm getting back into the groove of things... slowly but surely. At the end of last week I was all about making it to the weekend. Surprisingly it wasn't for the normal reasons, I had plans to hang out with my fav cousin before she moves to Chicago (in a hot second.) As you might have gathered the whole thing has happened in a flash but, it is really happening so I was glad to spend some quality time with her! Are any of you from Chicago? Do you have some advice for her before she heads off? How about some fun places to check out when she gets there? Hopefully I will time this right and we will be back to the regular outfit posting schedule tomorrow... hopefully.
  • Top: gray short sleeve sweater, New York & Company with a tank top underneath for the modesty
  • Bottom: black really skinny pants, GAP/gift from BF
  • Shoes & Accessories: leopard print flats, New York & Company; tourmaline earrings, V'ta jewelry; purple tote bag, Coach outlet (not pictured)

May 26, 2010

Today is going to be ridonculously hot and I wish I could be at the beach! I'm sensing a summer trend in the works... On another note, I think I might have come up with an idea for a theme week that is completely in keeping with the spirit of 260 Days, No Repeats. More to come on this by the end of the week (hmmm I'd better get cracking) I hope you will join me!
  • Top: yellow ruffle collar shirt, Ann Taylor Loft
  • Bottom: khaki green skirt, Target
  • Shoes & Accessories: silver gladiator sandals, Isaac Mizrahi for Target (similar here); tourmaline earrings, V'ta; brown leather bag with silver floral embellishments, GAP

April 27, 2010

Another dreary and sad day, unfortunately... but, there is not point in harping on it! The weather man said it will be better on Thursday. Hopefully he's right and not just talking nonsense to appease me and the masses.

April 23, 2010

We are still in keeping with the Friday theme hence the unamused look and the quick and easy front hair poof. Keep tuned for potential "cosmetic" changes over the weekend! To the blog sillies, not me. Items from this outfit are previously seen here but today:
  • Top: yellow short sleeve embellished t-shirt, New York & Company with a gray tank top underneath (for the modesty)
  • Bottom: jeans, GAP outlet
  • Shoes & Accessories: black and white snake print flats, Coconuts via DSW; tourmaline earrings, V'ta; blue Foley & Corrina city clutch via Plaza Too (now that I think about it)
