Giveaway: Fashion Week Swag
One of my favorite things about Fashion Week is free stuff. Besides the general glitz and glamour that comes along with attending all the events there are generally goodie bags filled with samples and gifts. Honestly, I am kind of a hoarder about it but, I digress... After going through the copious amount of swag I had at the end of Fashion Week festivities there were plenty of things that I didn't really see myself using. I'm more than happy to share hence my current giveaway. With four different winners and a plethora of ways to enter your chances are looking pretty great.
Up for grabs is:
The Makeup Bundle
The Jewelry Bundle
Small Case Bundle
Black Sprout Watch

FBFF: Sans Makeup + BONUS Giveaway!
Honestly, I never rarely ever wear makeup anymore. Can you tell in my everyday pics? Maybe a little? Fine, be that way... I was more nervous about taking this picture because of my left eye which is now always slightly closed and a little wonky (thanks, eye drama!) Can you tell? Yeah, I know.
Anyway, when I was very young I used to think that makeup was a really glamorous thing that the grown ups got to partake in and I didn't because I was too little. There was definitely one hilarious occasions (that I have seen pictures of) where I snuck into someones purse while everyone socialized at a family gathering and absconded with red lipstick which I promptly began to apply it to my whole face sort of like this:
I was a little too young to have the technique down but, there was time to figure it out...
That was one of my earliest encounters with makeup and I can't really say that I loved it or didn't because I'm pretty sure I was 1 or 2. Throughout my youth watching my Mom apply her blush and pink lipstick or my grandmother heat up her eye pencil with a lighter and then put it on after her green eye shadow while I was growing up made me excited to be able to try it someday!
When I was in high school and had some a little autonomy I used to wear alot of makeup; foundation, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, blush, lip liner, lip gloss... you name it, it was probably on my face. The real irony of that was the fact that I had amazing skin and really didn't need all that nonsense. Even more ironic is that the fact that now I am a "grown up" and don't wear makeup I have pretty consistent acne problems, what's up with that?
Acne and all I still don't want to take from my time from my regular morning routine to put makeup on. Granted, I don't wear a ton of stuff now (dabs of concealer, spray foundation, eye shadow, mascara, blush, and lip gloss) but, I still don't want to have to deal with it. I think the most important thing is that I am ok with it; I don't NEED makeup everyday but, if I feel like putting it on for special occasions or events that's fine...
On a related note, in the past few weeks I have been to a few events where makeup was a main component of the goodie bags which amounts to about $160 worth of products! Since I don't really wear makeup I wanted to pass them on to you instead of throwing them away... So here is what's in the proverbial bag because they don't all fit in the bag that is pictured:
- Laura Geller Retractable Powder Brush
- Laura Geller Air Whipped Lip Wear in Praline Mousse
- Laura Geller Eye Elements Bake Eye Shadow in Amethyst Skies
- Laura Geller Air Whipped Blush in Whisper Mulberry
- 2 Fusion Beauty: Lip Fusion Lip Plumping Pencil in Flush
- Pop Beauty Bronze Belle 8 Color Bronzing Kit
- Talika Eye Pencil in Black
- Denim Makeup Bag

FBFF: Beauty Products
1. What's your favorite drug store makeup product and your favorite higher-end product?
I don't really wear makeup or more specifically, I tend to only wear makeup on special occasions. Can you tell the difference? Maybe a little? Ok, that's fair... I would say that one thing I like when I do wear makeup is spray on foundation, it's so lightweight and really covers nicely!
2. Is there one type of product that is your go-to, can't live without?
I cannot be without lip gloss. BF thinks it's an unnecessary thing like, my chapped lips are all in my head... he's so completely incorrect!
3. What's the best hair product you've ever used?
I have really thick curly (sometimes) and frizzy (most of the time) hair. I am IN LOVE with Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment! It is, at this point, the only thing the only thing I put in my hair and when I was wearing my hair curly... it was one of two things. It's on the pricier side but, totally worth since for regular use just a dab will do ya. I literally had one jar for years! Just a little in your hair after blow drying and it looks perfect; it also works great as an overnight treatment every once and a while.
4. Fess up, what's the worst beauty look you've tried to rock and look back at now with a little shame or apprehension that you actually did that?
Well, I don't really wear make up but, when I was high school I used to wear lip-liner (I have no idea why) and super shiny lip gloss thing. My mom called them chuleta lips... which means pork chop in Spanish. I wouldn't say that it was shame or apprehension inducing at this point; just silly of me.
5. When it comes to beauty products, we all use the same basic products. What do you use that helps show off your personal flare and personality?
We all know I have a product addiction but, I don't know if any of the things I like show off my personality. 95% of the things I use on a daily basis are meant for cleansing/smelling nice. Yes, I like to smell nice how indicative of me as a person... no wait, that's not right. I suppose the scents I choose sad something about me. For the past few months I've been into really musky scents but, now that the spring is upon us I'm excited to change to lighter, sweeter scents.

100th Post - A New Challenge!
As you know, I have been at this personal style challenge for a little over three months! It's been somewhat difficult and I'm sure it will only get harder as time passes but, in honor or my 100th post I have decided to throw in a little something extra. I challenge myself (and you if your interested) to use use all the products (hair stuff, lotion, powder, soap, perfume, makeup) in my possession to completion before buying anything new!
I have so many bottles of lotion, perfume, etc. and a stockpile of soap (because I prefer it in a bar and whenever I find one that smells nice I pick it up) some of which I have purchased for myself but, many which have come as gifts for whatever occasion. You know those gifts when the person doesn't know what to get you so they just buy you a gift basket from Bath and Body Works (I'll admit I'm guilty of it as well sometimes.) Not only do I get them from my friends and acquaintances but, I also get a decent amount of those gifts as runoff from my mom who is a teacher and doesn't really use those products. I'm sure you can imagine how much product I have to go through...
If you are interested in joining me grab the banner and add it to your blog (If you are having trouble email me and I will send it to you.) Also, leave me a comment so I can count you in. Let's fight the spirit of consumption and excessiveness that is the "American Way" (while saving ourselves from uneccesary spending) and use what we have until we don't have anymore before we hit the stores! The first step for me is going to be taking a good hard look at what I have and making a list... I will share with you when I'm done!
