August 12, 2010: Double Take

Yesterday was surprising for me in that apparently curly hair is no big deal! Barely anybody commented (IRL) on it, I'm not sure if that's disappointing or negligible. I guess there are other things to focus on at work besides the state of my locks. Today it's up in a messy bun because I am in a rush and it's being a little wild. This easy fix is the one thing I missed about curly hair! This bun looks alot more interesting than one with pin straight hair. Maybe it was all the humidity and "nature" that I was exposed to at Boscobel last night... I would actually recommend going to take in some Shakespeare or just the beautiful gardens if you have the time but, bring bug spray! Here are a few shots of last night before the show started:

Today's outfit might seem similar to you and that's because it is! I wore an almost identical outfit in July and I'm not sure which works better. In the previous one I was just looking for something that "matched" with but, I think this might "go" better. Let me know what you think in the poll below!
  • Top: coral embellished tank top, LOFT via Mom
  • Bottom: blue polka dot skirt, New York and Company (same skirt on the weekend here)
  • Shoes & Accessories: gladiator sandals, Christian Siriano for Payless; gold perforated earrings, New York and Company; brown leather tote, Bulga

Items from this outfit are previously seen here:

Weekend Wear: Completely Caved

I'll be honest, I feel like the summer is already over... It didn't help that when I went shopping with Mom for my birthday (YAY LOFT Friends and Family Sale) the majority of the things I saw were for the fall. As I sarted to embrace the layers and jewel tones of the upcoming season's palatte I couldn't help but, be drawn to the super trendy and apprently inescapable "jegging." That's right people... I am a sucker!  I tried them on (even though I had been vehemently against them for me) and loved the look plus the extreme level of comfort. I took them for a real road test today running some errands and they did not dissapoint. I kind of hate to admit it but, I might be the newest jegging convert!
  • Top: ivory tank top with embroidered neck, Patrick Robinson for Target with another tank top underneath for the modesty
  • Bottom: denim jeggings, LOFT
  • Shoes & Accessories: purple suede-ish ballet flats, Mossimo for Target; brown belt, New York and Company; gold and mixed metal earrings, gift from my co-worker Natalia/ModCloth

August 6, 2010: Let The Weekend Begin!

My wait is over, my birthday is here! I'm so excited for this evening that I have a feeling this will be a quick work day. Overall, everythingng off well and I haven't even left my apartment yet. A gift all the way from Cali from BF's parents was waiting for me when I got up. I wonder how long it has been in the apartment, those sneaky people... The card was hilarious (as always) and the gift was really awesome. I'll show it to you some time but let's just say part of it will probably become a wardrobe staple!

Your wait is over! I know it's Casual Friday but, I just couldn't resist wearing this dress that I got yesterday. It's my favorite thing that  we picked up. Whose going to tell me no anyway? It's my day! This dress is perfect for work on what is supposed to be a hot (but, not so humid) day and dinner after with the fam. Tonight is another story but, maybe we'll get to that later...
  • Top: pink embroidered dress, Unique Shrift Store/gift from Mom
  • Shoes & Accessories: silver gladiator sandals, Isaac Mizrahi for Target (similar and on sale here) Did anyone notice they look a smidge less ragged? No, I didn't make it to my shoe guy but, my friend Krazy Glue and I helped them out! The one with the brush works great in a pinch!; pink shell earrings, some random craft fair; limited edition Tracey Emin for Longchamp Pliage via the outlet

May 20, 2010

It is not gross and rainy!!! How appropriate as Floral Week continues. I couldn't be happier for the actual weather but, I'm a little bummed because I am feeling a bit under the weather. You win some, you lose some I guess.
  • Top: light brown sweater, GAP outlet with a tank top underneath for the modesty
  • Bottom: pink embroidered skirt, Ann Taylor: second hand from mom who thrifted it
  • Shoes & Accesories: silver gladiator sandals, Isaac Mizrahi for Target (similar here); silver beaded necklace, Bitten via Steve & Barry's; Tiffany & Co's silver bead earrings; gray Balenciaga Le-Dix/motorcycle bag
