I'm not sure who said don't wear white after Labor Day but, it's one of the few silly fashion rules that I always have stuck in my head. So, now that I'm feeling the
pinch of summers imminent close some part of me says that I have to get all my random white pieces in! Either way, you can bet that I will be breaking
this skirt out no questions! Whales and jolly rogers just don't seem as appropriate for fall as a fabulous animal print! Plus, this ensemble gave me a great venue to showcase a pair of
forgotten shoes. Only four pairs left, piece of cake! Are there pieces in your wardrobe that prompt you to break fashion rules? Do you follow the "no white after labor day" rule? What rules do you follow?

- Bottom: cream and navy printed skirt, Libertine for Target

Okay, that is a seriously great skirt. And the shoes! Looove! This is a super cute summery outfit. Too bad it's not feeling terribly summery here in Philly.
ReplyDeleteThat yellow looks really good on you and I love it in combination with the light bottom. And the whimsical print on the skirt is really cute as well.
ReplyDeleteMy mom thought me the "no white rule" and we think about it all the time. Just yesterday I wore a pair of white silk trousers for the first time this summer but I also have a pair of winter white wool pants. For the optimal look I need to shed some inches before I go out it those. It is going to be 100 degrees in So Cal today so I just might have time to loose the weight for when winter white would be appropriate.
ReplyDeleteCute shoes! This skirt is the perfect length on you, too. For what it's worth, I say throw that white-after-Labor-Day rule out the window! :)

What? There are rules?
ReplyDeleteI think most fashion rules were invented for people who don't know much about fashion. A small safe guard so they feel confident when they walk out the door.
I do follow the mini skirt length rule of hitting just below your fingertips when you are standing up straight.
I will most definitely be wearing white after labor day, I have a fabulous white coat I need to wear!!
I want the skirt AND the shoes.
ReplyDeleteI will let you keep the top so the cops don't pick you up.
Really they totally rock.
