And so it continues; two down and a very long way to go! I guess it's good that it is taking me so long. I am saving alot of money by using the products that I have but, when I'm out shopping my senses are bombarded with new scents and product promises that I want to cave to. Keep calm and carry on...

So the idea is to use up whatever you have on hand before you buy more? I'm trying to do the same thing but for cost reasons instead. In fact we currently (except for the kitchen, and the set was gifted to me) don't have liquid hand soap in any of our bathrooms because I ran out, and am now using up the many bars of soap I was given over the years. It feels so good to stop storing things, use them, and not spend any money at all! I have to keep buying certain things (with hip-length hair I go through conditioner like water) but others I could go for ages (lip balms?) without buying something.
ReplyDeleteYou have done a marvelous job! I am really inspired with your work.
ReplyDeleteGood for you Iris !
ReplyDeleteNaomir (above) just made a real interesting comment that I have to tag on to and its the space factor. Storage.
Most of us never have enough of it, so by getting rid of those items you will have more space. Either to stock up of just so that you find things easier without having to empty the entire thing (like me).
I think, maybe you can make a list of those things that you are "craving" so much so whenever you are ready you can go back and analyze what you really need, most of the time we buy on impulse.
Also, you can let people around you know what you are doing and that you have TONS of stuff from B&Body so that for Christmas they don't overflow you with more stuff.
That's great! Way to break the consumer cycle.
ReplyDeleteclothed much, a modest fashion blog
It's true storage is definately a factor... I don't like to feel cluttered by things and this is one of the ways I'm dealing with it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the support everyone :)
