Review: Cougar Boots 2011

I was so excited when the lovely people from Cougar contacted me again and asked me if I would like to review another pair of boots for them. The boots that I got last year became absolute staples in the cold and wet weather and I was happy to pick one more pair!

Out of all the options that I was presented with this year I knew almost instantly which ones I wanted to try; the Mirage in black. After making very practical selections last year (snow boots/rain boots) I was happy to find something that I felt truly meshed fashion and function and I responded with my selection with haste, excited to receive another great pair of boots! I was also curious to see if Cougar boots in leather would work for people who have larger than average calves (16.5") like myself.

Then I got an email saying that the Mirage had been the most popular boot and they no longer has them in my size (ultimate sad face) but, I was still really excited about trying out their boots and thought the Marla, which had previously been available as well, would be the next best thing. It's fashion, function, with a sprinkle of trendy mixed in but, those weren't available either (extreme frustration). I thought about it long and hard and settled on the Portico in brown. Not that those aren't lovely boots but, they didn't scream "fashion" just "function."

When the boots finally came it was like an early Christmas gift! I was excited to try those Portico boots on and see if they were up to the challenge of fitting over my calves but, look what I found when I opened the box.

That;s right, the Mirage!! All the outfits that I had been planning when I made my initial selection started coming back to me. They really will be a great option when the weather really cools down.

When I tried them on they were so comfortable and the heel was completely practical. Then came the moment of truth: zipping them all the way up. It was honestly a bit of a struggle. I was able to make it all the way up but, they are still a bit tight. What worried me more was that I was not wearing pants so if I was to try them with some jeggings or skinny pants I'm sure it will be an even bigger fight. I suppose I can always get them stretched a bit by a cobbler... problem solved. Although, if I was in a store buying these boots I might not be so quick to purchase them since I would have to make additional, cost inducing alterations.

In the end I am really happy with these boots!! They are absolutely lovely and would be en excellent shoe choice for casual social events, low key dressy gatherings, and even work affairs (depending on your dress code.) They are also completely practical for winter weather since they will keep you warm in as low as -22° temperatures. Lastly, they are extremely comfortable and will be even more so once I have the opening stretched or wear them more and stretch it myself!

What Cougar shoes are your favorite?

Weekend Wear: Christmas Tree

For the first time in my life I went to a Christmas tree farm to get our tree with BF and a friend. I had always envisioned that trip to be one where I would be bundled up in my trusty coat with a hat, gloves, and crazy snow boots to combat the winter chill. That was not the case yesterday since it was unseasonably warm and raining... One thing I did stick with though was the boots because I couldn't wait to try out my new Cougar snow boots! It is taking too long for the white stuff to get here...

I have to say they are every bit as fantastic in practical use and they were when I tried them on in my apartment! They fit perfectly even though they are a half size smaller than I would normally wear. They were 100% waterproof (which I tested by sloshing around in puddles like a small child) and they kept my feet nice and toasty. I was a little apprehensive about the fur around the top of the boot when I tried them on at home because I have pretty large calves and the fur (in my opinion) made my calf look even bigger when I wore it folded down. Thankfully the extra long laces allowed me to tie the cuffs up and control the fluff! Plus, I could show of the little Cougar logo in the back. Lastly, on top of everything else they garnered lots of compliments! I would call that an awesome boot...

We also ended up getting a lovely tree! It was definitely different from driving around locally and buying a tree from some people who have set up shop outside a super market/gas station/pharmacy under the subway (which sounds like oxymoron I know but, it's not) I don't know if I would want to have to drive as far next year but, it was worth the experience plus, we got to see one of my cousin's who lives near there. Awesome boots, great tree, and fun times with family and friends sounds like an amazing trip to me!

Review: Cougar Boots

When I was asked to do a review of Cougar boots I was thrilled! Well, actually first I was confused... I had never heard of them before and while the thought of receiving an item to review was exciting I wasn't sure that these shoes/boots were even my style. So, I checked out their website and was thrilled to see that most of the boots were right up my alley. After which I sent back an enthusiastic, YES!

I got to pick one pair of rain boots and one pair of snow boots to review. They gave me some options and I got to pick my tops and they would send me what they could based on my size and their availability. And I patiently waited to receive my package in the mail...

When it finally came I couldn't wait to see what boots I had gotten. The selection of snow boots was pretty good so I think I would have been fine with whatever they sent me but, I had my heart set on a specific set of rain boots. When I opened the box I was greeted with a nice letter from the president of the company (kudos to them for that nice detail) and a whole lot of goodies!

Not only do I get boots but, they included an awesome mug, some hot cocoa, and a warm hoodie! All of which will be quite handy and fully utilized as the temperatures continue to drop. And I love their message, "For the world you walk on. Love what you wear." I can totally get behind that! Now, it was time to get down to business and see what I ended up with, drumroll please... the exact boots I wanted!!! And even though I ordered them in a 9 (I am generally a 9.5) they fit perfectly!

First of all let's talk about the rain boots, because I actually got to wear them for a whole day at work and to run some errands after. As I mentioned before they were a good fit and absolutely waterproof. I jumped in a puddle leftover from the days before's rain (yes, like a small child) and I was honestly hoping that it would start up again... it didn't but, I think I got to experience the dryness perfectly. Plus, I love the style. How unbelievably bad ass are these boots with their motorcycle vibe? My only complaint is that I wish they were a little higher and wider in the calf. I have very muscular calves and where these boots stopped on me they ended up being a little tight by the end of the day. Also, I love the look of taller wellies that you could wear with equally tall socks and if they had been the case I probably wouldn't have had the calf problem. Overall though, big thumbs up for style and comfort!

On to the snow boots (pictured in detail here)... I only got to wear these around the house because there has not been (and had better not be) any snow yet. They are so comfortable, I love them! They are also warm, waterproof, and very lightweight. Considering how the tags claim a wearer will stay warm in, as low as, 5° weather I am very impressed, I would have expected them to be heavier and bulkier. The faux fur is not 100% me but, I am getting used to it and it is so trendy for fall/winter that you can't go wrong with these. I think they are my favorite out of the two pairs and I almost can't wait (figuratively speaking) for snow!

Overall, I have found a new favorite boot brand! And while I was searching for other styles online I found that these are really not that expensive at all; Definitely cheaper than (or on par with) Hunter or Uggs, just as warm, and even more stylish. Which Cougar boots/shoes are your favorite?

January 13, 2011: Woman in Uniform

Sorry for the "technical difficulties" AKA snow day yesterday. If I had the power to control the weather we would be done with cold and snow; I am so over it, how about you? Yup, that's what I thought but, I digress...

I'm not sure if I love this outfit today. With the pumps as pictured it reminds me of a catholic school girl uniform. I swear these tights are an identical color to what some schools require in NYC and the modest plaid just seals the deal. The other thing it reminds me of is something a lumberjack would wear especially when I added my totally warm Cougar boots. Ok, fine maybe a really chic lumberjack... but, there is still snow that I have to climb through to get to my car this morning so, warm boots ALA lumberjack it is! What would you wear with forest green tights? How are you coping with this ridiculously cold weather?
  • Top: black and gray plaid dress with pockets, LOFT; white long sleeved t-shirt, Merona for Target
  • Shoes & Accessories:  black Ringo Star snow boots, courtesy of Cougar (not pictured at first); green tights, We Love Colors; cut steel earrings, V'ta Jewelry; purple tote bag, Coach

December 14, 2010: First Snow

When I woke up yesterday I was greeted by a layer of the white stuff on the ground. That sneaky overnight precipitation added nicely to my feeling of blah after the non-stop weekend, it was an epic battle to get out of bed and both sides suffered casualities. Snow (even if it's only a half an inch) always makes me want to crawl back under the covers, adults should have snow days too! I don't know who says it's not winter yet but, I would beg to differ. Anyway... I toughed it out (in the words of my boss) and got ready for work but, there was no room for chances. I threw on my trusty Cougar boots and a big comfy sweater to keep warm, a stylish compromise. What's your favorite way to stay stylish and keep warm?
  • Top: beige cowl neck sweater, Old Navy; white tank top underneath for the modesty
  • Bottom: gray really skinny pants, GAP/gift from BF
  • Shoes & Accessories:  black Ringo Star snow boots, courtesy of Cougar; moonstone earrings, V'ta jewelry; leopard print headband, Target $1.00 bin (marked down to $.25!); black spy bag, Fendi

Items from this outfit are previously seen and remixed here, here, and here:

Weekend Wear: The 2010 Christmas Roadshow

I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas (if that's your thing) and found everything you wanted from Santa under the tree! How did you spend the holiday? Was it at home with your family or travelling to see relatives? I would say BF and I always do a little of both, spending Christmas morning with my family but also gracing various areas of New York and New Jersey with our holiday cheer to see friends and other family! This year was no different...

On Christmas Eve we had alot on our plate with events in both states; some last minute errands to run and Christmas Eve dinner/gifts with BF's family while at midnight BF had to head to work (gasp, I know) and I had to head off to midnight mass with my parents. So, I needed an outfit that would work for all of those situations. Enter skinny pants... they are now a wardrobe workhorse for sure!
  • Top: cream lace top, Merona for Target; blue tank top underneath, for the modesty; gray flyaway cardigan, New York & Company
  • Bottom: black really skinny pants, GAP/gift from BF
  • Shoes & Accessories: silver hardware embellished flats, Preview via Nordstrom Rack; silver knotted necklace, Christmas gift from my dear friend; silver bead earrings, Tiffany & Co.; gray le-dix/motorcycle bag, Balenciaga (not pictured)

I spend the most critical parts of Christmas Day in my pajamas! You know... making brunch and opening gifts. Apparently they were very stylish and fancy. My mother thought that was I would be wearing to Christmas dinner but, I digress. This Christmas was a good one and any stress that I incurred participating in the prep was totally worth it! The top three moments of the morning were:
  1. Mom's reaction to her gift from my brother I and myself.
  2. The delicious food (it was a joint effort) and brunch conversation.
  3. Everyone being so surprised and grateful for all their gifts and the time spent together since no body had a very strict list of things they wanted it really worked out!
After the magic of Christmas and some Jeopardy on the Wii my family headed home while BF and I got ready to head upstate and continue the roadshow... on to Aunt B's for dinner. I think I would have been a bit over dressed if I had worn anything but jeans but, I tried to keep it fancy for the holidays with a sparkly sweater!
  • Top: black sparkly sweater, LOFT; a tank top underneath for the modesty
  • Bottom: trouser jeans, GAP outlet
  • Shoes & Accessories: faux patent leather red flats, American Eagle for Payless; silver bead earrings, Tiffany & Co.; gray le-dix/motorcycle bag, Balenciaga (not pictured)

BF and I enjoyed a nice quiet morning together the day after Christmas but, headed out in the late afternoon for NJ again with my brother in tow for some celebrations with our cousins. Yes, you read correctly I braved that ridiculous blizzard! I didn't realize it was going to be as serious as it was but, as we saw all the cars pulled over, time dragged on, fierce winds blew and lightning lit up the sky it set in that my desire to stick with our original plans might not have resulted in the smartest course of actions. It took us three times as long as it normally does to get there but, we made it safely! This picture was taken mid snow fall but, by the time we ventured outside the next day to shovel our cars out of the driveways I was thigh high in snow.
  • Top: pink short sleeved sweater, GAP; white tank top underneath for the modesty; black flyaway cardigan, August Silk via TJ Maxx
  • Bottom: denim jeggings, LOFT/birthday gift from Mom
  • Shoes & Accessories: black Ringo Star snow boots, courtesy of Cougar; silver bead earrings, Tiffany & Co.; gray le-dix/motorcycle bag, Balenciaga (not pictured)

The day after the Snowpocalypse we didn't do much of anything other than shovel snow. One of my cousins had gotten stuck overnight on an impassable highway so we waited up until 4AM for her only to find out that she would not be able to get moving until the next morning... When she finally arrived all any of us wanted to do was stay in, celebrate the holidays, and enjoy each other's company. The roads were still pretty bad by the end of the day so we decided to stay another night. The next day we ventured out and it was surprisingly warm or maybe that was just my sweater... There was still post blizzard wreckage but, not so much to keep us away from brunch or from eventually heading home.
  • Top: gray chunky sweater, GAP; brown and black tank tops underneath for the modesty, New York & Company/Old Navy respectively
  • Bottom: denim jeggings, LOFT/birthday gift from Mom

Function Over Form

Today's outfit was born from necessity. After the mini tornado yesterday (hail, no joke,) non-stop torrential down pour overnight, and ongoing showers this morning things are pretty gross. Despite the fact that on Mondays I try to like to keep things positive there is no way around that statement, it's a fact. Fortunately, that doesn't mean I can't motivate and make it work; I'm channeling a "storm" outfit (that's what boots and skinny pants are for after all) which is appropriate for what the forecast suggested.

You would assume that skinny pants were something readily available to me but, you would be mistaken. I recovered these from the tailoring pile because they needed hemming. Also, these pants are a size (or three two) too big. I'm hanging on them because they are stretchy and they work for now. Also, I'm tired of having to replace clothes but, I digress... I'm not sure how much longer these pants (and other items I'm too stubborn to let go of) will last
  • Top: navy boatneck sweater, LOFT
  • Bottom: gray skinny pants, Mossimo
  • Shoes & Accessories: black motorcycle rain boots, c/o Cougar AND leopard print flats, Seychelles (not pictured;) vintage silver earrings, my Abuela

Unposted Outfits: Winter 2011/2012

While searching through old pictures I have not posted I was pleased to find that most of the pictures for the months following my last post of random forgotten ensembles were accounted for except for what I thought was just this one random cold weather outfit. I'm wasn't really sure why it slipped through the cracks since so many other outfits from that week made it but, c'est la vie. I feel like there might have been some days that I didn't take pictures since there are so few postings in this time frame... I had the best intentions though. I know there are more outfits coming so stay tuned.
  • Top: orange v-neck sweater, Banana Republic with a tank top underneath for the modesty; green khaki blazer, GAP
  • Bottomblack true straight pants, GAP/gift from BF
  • Shoes & Accessories: silver hardware embellished flats, Preview via Nordstrom Rack; silver bead earrings, Tiffany & Co.Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

Then I started looking for Spring 2012 outfits and I found more from that season.... So. Many. More. I can't believe that I was such a bad blogger. I will say that in looking through all the pictures this dress specifically was a "go-to" piece. I attribute it to my commitment to wear all the items in my closet and not focus too much on any one item. In doing that, some items end up getting more focus than others, ironic.
  • Top: yellow ruffle front cotton knit dress, eshakti.com; black blazer, Ann Taylor via Melissa
  • Shoes & Accessories: black ballet flats, Mossimo via Target; maroon tights, Comfort Choice/Christmas Gift from Cousin V; Amelia Earrings, Stella & DotNeverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

One thing that I have noticed with my work wardrobe for my most recent position is that there are some days where I am SO professional and to me most of the time it feels SO boring. Since I went suit shopping there has definitely been some improvement in my professional wardrobe options but, that doesn't mean that I want to wear the same five suits every week. Conflict and frustration... and it's visible in the way I dress. There are some days that are so professional and some that are obviously not. Looking back I see why there might have been complaints because the difference was extreme. New plan in the next job... consistent professionalism!
  • Top: brown and cream argyle sweater, Merona via Target (same sweater different color here, here); gray pinstripe blazer, Calvin Klein via Loehmanns
  • Bottom: gray pinstripe skirt, Calvin Klein via Loehmanns
  • Shoes & Accessories: brown pumps, Candies via Kohl's; pearl earrings, Macys/gift from Mom; Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

I love argyle almost as much as I love lamp tweed. It's such a fun way to spice up your everyday wardrobe  for work or anything else in a classic manner... It might be a little too preppy for some people but, I am drawn to it no matter what.
  • Toppink argyle sweater, IZOD via ReDress
  • Bottom: black and white tweed skirt, Isaac Mizrahi for Target via Unique Thrift Store
  • Shoes & Accessoriesblack Mirage boots, courtesy of Cougar Boots black tights, Hanes Silk Reflections courtesy of Hanes via Robert Verdi's Luxe Labpearl earrings, Macys/gift from Mom; Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

While, I would assume that this was a Friday outfit it might not have been. I had to buy those pants when I got to work because the ones that I had worn to work got unacceptably dirty. There is a GAP across the street from my old office and it was a blessing and a curse. On one hand I was able to find a pair of pants that worked in a pinch, on the other hand the GAP tends to be a little too pricey for me. Thankfully, I found these jeans on super sale and BF offered to foot the bill. Crisis averted! Too bad they are not the best fit. They had a nice home in my desk at work just in case I found myself in a similar situation again and will probably make there way back there at my next job. Do you keep any emergency clothes at the office?
  • Top: gray turtleneck sweater, GAP
  • Bottom: black legging jeans, GAP/gift via BF
  • Shoes & Accessories: red patent leather ballet flats, Payless; silver bead earrings, Tiffany & Co.Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

While the last outfit might have probably been a Friday outfit I would bet that this was a Monday outfit. Why? Because Monday = suit day! I feel even more strongly because, I obvi had the weekend to get my hair did (by myself) and am ready to start another week. Most people are completely unmotivated by Monday's but, I (on some level) find them refreshing (sometimes.) It's a new start. I wonder if I will feel that way after I start working again...

  • Topred embellished sweater, RED via Loehmanns/gift from Mom; black and white pinstripe blazer, Calvin Klein via SYMS
  • Bottom: black and white pinstripe blazer, Calvin Klein via SYMS
  • Shoes & Accessories: black pumps, Nine West/gift from BF; silver bead earrings, Tiffany & Co.Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

Who knows what day this is. Obvi it wasn't a great one since my cat has come over to love me... or maybe he's hungry. Who knows. I am speculating significantly about what going on in many of these pictures. It's been almost a year for some of these and I would guess that the days that I can't really recall details about were just ordinary days. This ordinary outfit would lead me to believe that this days was potentially even a blah day.
  • Top: dark brown scoopneck sweater, GAP (same sweater different color here and here) with a tank top underneath for the modesty; brown houndstooth jacket, LOFT
  • Bottom: gray pants, New York & Company
  • Shoes & Accessoriesbrown/black snake embossed ballet flats, Xhiliration for Target; coin pearl necklace, V'ta jewelry; coin pearl earrings, borrowed from Mom then altered by me; silver watch, Fossil; Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

I'm going to say that this was probably another one of those ordinary days.
  • Topcream lace top, Merona for Target with a tank top underneath for the modesty; gray flyaway cardigan, New York & Company
  • Bottomblack really skinny pants, GAP
  • Shoes & Accessories: red patent leather ballet flats, Payless; Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

Love this outfit! I would wear it (or something like it) out to run some errands, meet someone for lunch, or just hang out with friends day or night. It is a really great example of my casual style. I remember this was an especially successful charity Friday and it was a good day!
  • Top: gray v-neck blouse, Old Navy with a tank top underneath for the modesty; black and white pinstripe blazer, Calvin Klein via SYMS
  • Bottom: skinny jeans, Forever21
  • Shoes & Accessories: black ballet flats, Mossimo via Target; estate chandelier earrings, Stella & Dot; silver watch, Fossil; Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

I hope that every outfit picture I take from this moment on is outside and on a day as lovely as this one obviously was. Such a great setting makes everything about these pictures look better. The lighting is perfect, the colors are more vibrant, my skin seems clearer, I look skinnier, and everything is great. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit but, I love the way these outdoor pictures came out and aspire to take more of these moving forward!
  • Toporange ballet neck chiffon flower top, New York & Company
  • Bottom: black and white pinstripe skirt, Calvin Klein via SYMS
  • Shoes & Accessories: black pumps, Nine West/gift from BF; silver bead earrings, Tiffany & Co.; silver watch, Fossil; Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

No I wasn't exaggerating these outdoor pictures are the best EVER in every way! I remember this outfit being really comfortable. That is my favorite part of dresses in general, the extreme level of comfort. I feel like if I could wear dresses everyday I would but, there are other things to consider like weather, cold, and the fact that sometimes pants are even more comfy that a dress. Decisions, decisions... do you prefer pants or dresses?
  • Toppastel colored dress, axcess for Kohl's via Unique Thrift Store with a tank top underneath for the modesty; black and white pinstripe blazer, Calvin Klein via SYMS
  • Shoes & Accessories: black pumps, Nine West/gift from BF; mother of pearl drop earrings, V'ta Jewelrysilver watch, Fossil; Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

While this seems like an outfit for just another day my hair looks great and that really adds to the look as a whole. One thing that I have noticed while going through a (seemingly) endless amount of outfit pictures is that if my hair looks weird or frizzy or messy it significantly takes away from the outfit as a whole. Besides the magic of outdoor pictures, I think my hair is looking pretty great and while this outfit might seem a little relaxed I still look polished and professional. All these pieces are coming together...
  • Topgreen and white scroll print t-shirt, LOFT; gray cardigan, New York & Company via Mom's closet clean out
  • Bottomblack true straight pants, GAP
  • Shoes & Accessories: leopard print ballet flats, New York & Company; silver bead earrings, Tiffany & Co.silver watch, Fossil; Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

I'm not exactly sure what I am doing in this picture but, I had to post it specifically not one of the other ones that was taken. I look kind of crazy... crazy awesome! O, just crazy? Fine, be that way... I have no idea what kind of message I am trying to convey with my hands but, I'm sure BF got it.
  • Top: white rosette embellished t-shirt, LOFT (same shirt different color here, here, here, here, here, here, and here); blue tweed blazer, K Studio via The Unique Thrift Store
  • Bottom: gray pants, New York & Company
  • Shoes & Accessories: black ballet flats, Mossimo via Target; signature clover chandelier earrings, Stella & DotNeverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

It is was cold. I remember taking this picture and just wanting to run back inside because it was so cold. The other thing I remember is that just because it is super cold outside doesn't mean that dirt is solid. You might not have noticed but, my heels are completely sunken in to the dirt, it was a day of learning...
  • Toppurple vintage dress, Unique Thrift Store via Mom with a tank top underneath for the modesty;  blue embellished cardigan, Merona for Target/b-day gift from BF's parents
  • Shoes & Accessories: gray pumps, Steve Madden; coin pearl earrings, borrowed from Mom then altered by me; silver watch, Fossil; Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

And now we are back inside. O well, I think this outfit is a great example of my attempts to take items that I have already worn and remix them. Prior to the start of this personal style challenge I would have worn the dress as a dress only... maybe I would have thrown a cardigan or blazer over it but, I definitely wouldn't have put a button down shirt under a wrap dress, crazy! I'm so glad I've had this fashion metamorphosis. If not my outfits would have been so boring.

  • Topbrown wrap dress, Diane von Furstenberg; white ruffle button down blouse, LOFT; brown tweed blazer with floral details, George via The Unique Thrift Shop
  • Shoes & Accessories: gray pumps, Steven Madden; Amelia Earrings, Stella & Dot; Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

I love this outfit, LOVE it!  I feel like this outfit is a perfect blend of my style and a professional wardrobe. It's sort of like a suit and incorporates a blazer but, is still quirky and fun in terms of pattern mixing and pops of color.
  • Topgray, green, and white argyle sweater, Target (same shirt different color here, here, and here); black blazer, Ann Taylor via Melissa
  • Bottom: black and white tweed skirt, thrifted/no tag
  • Shoes & Accessories: black pumps, Nine West/gift from BF; pearl earrings, Macys/gift from Momsilver watch, Fossil; Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

I'm going to say that this ALSO was probably another one of those ordinary days.
  • Topivory shirt with crochet embellishment with a tank top underneath for the modesty; gray and white pinstripe blazer, Calvin Klein via Loehmanns
  • Bottomblack true straight pants, GAP
  • Shoes & Accessories: black pumps, Nine West/gift from BF; pink chalcedony earrings, V'ta Jewelrysilver watch, Fossil; Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

I'm going to say that this ALSO was probably another one of those ordinary days. I'm assuming that these pictures weren't taken one day after the other because those are the same pants... awkward.
  • Topred floral embellished top, Simply Vera Vera Wang via Kohl's; black and white pinstripe blazer, Calvin Klein via SYMS
  • Bottomblack true straight pants, GAP
  • Shoes & Accessories: black pumps, Nine West/gift from BF; my abuela's vintage silver hoops; silver watch, Fossil; Neverfull GM, Louis Vuitton/gift from BF

I would love to say that this is the last unposted outfit that I have to share with you but, that would be the biggest fib... ever. I have already identified the rouge pictures and am working on the other posts for the all the season up until the present. Hopefully I will be able to remember more about the days as I get closer to the present. Stay tuned!

November 8, 2012: Winter Is Coming

Correction, winter is was here! After freezing my little piggies off trudging home through a few inches of snow in ballet flats I wanted to make sure I was prepared to stay warm during the morning commute. I went (way) against the rules and wore skinny pants to work so I could easily tuck them into my (secret commuterblack Ringo Star snow boots, courtesy of Cougar. I wasn't taking any chances! Of course by morning the sun had come out and by the time I left work in the evening all the snow had melted away. I suppose it's better to be over prepared... Was there snow in your area? Was it gone as quickly as it came?

Trying To Keep Up!

Ok, I know, what was it that I was saying about not falling behind? I'll be honest. Thanksgiving (and other related things) are totally kicking my butt! I am setting myself up for epic blog posting failure if I can't get it together...

I don't mean to be so hard on myself with the seemingly overwhelming amount of self loathing I am just frustrated by the fact that I have so many great ideas and things I want to say about what I'm wearing, how it fits in with my day, or other related things but, I can't even get one post published.

I've got plans for the rest of the month! A calendar that I am going to try to stick with. We;ll see how that goes. How would you go about doing things differently? I have really enjoyed myself for the past year and a half and would love to keep going for year three (crazy?) but, I need to find a different way to make it all come together.

I worked from home on November 14, 2011(love it) but, I was in the office for all the days leading up to Thanksgiving.
